We built our robots! These kids are so talented, we loved seeing their smiling faces at the end with the success of each robot lighting up and turning on. Each partner put together a robot kit by themselves, from motors, wheels, to the sensors and micro controller. We asked them at the start of class “Who here has built a robot before?” no hands went up, their eyes looking around at each other a little nervously, only for us to ask again at the end of class with every hand shooting into the air. Really emphasizing the greatness of their accomplishment that night, “let no one tell you, you can’t do something, you’ve built a robot! Remember that!”
